Pilar Nogues-Marco is Associate Professor in Economic History at University Carlos III de Madrid (Department of Social Sciences), Research Affiliate at Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and Trustee of the European Historical Economics Society (EHES).

PhD in Economics (International Finance) at Sciences-Po Paris, she previously held teaching and research positions at University Pompeu Fabra, Sciences-Po Paris and University of Barcelona. She has recently held a visiting position at London School of Economics and Political Science (Senior Visiting Fellowship-LSE, Sep 2013-Jan 214)

Her research focuses on monetary history in early modern Europe. Pilar’s research was awarded the Extraordinary Prize of Doctorate, Larruga Prize-Spanish Association of Economic History (AEHE), and shortlisted for the Economic History Association Gerschenkron Prize and Intenational Economic History Association Dissertation Prize (Pre-modern). Her publications have been awarded Carande Prize for the best article published in Journal of Iberian and Latin American Economic History and Figuerola Prize for the best article published in European Review of Economic History.

She has published in the Journal of Economic History, European Review of Economic History, Cambridge Journal of Regions Economy and Society, Journal of Iberian and Latin American Economic History, Oxford University Press, Elsevier, Palgrave Macmillan, Bank of Spain, Bank of France, Alianza, Crítica.
