Joan R. Rosés, Ph. D. European University Institute, is Associate Professor and Director of the Department of Economic History and Institutions at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He is fellow of the Instituto Figuerola. He has been Visiting Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, and Visiting fellow at University of California Berkeley and Instituto de Ciencias Sociais, Lisbon. He teaches economic history and different topics in development economics at undergraduate and graduate level. His research has been published in major Economic History journals, including Journal of Economic History, Economic History Review, European Review of Economic History, Explorations in Economic History, Revista de Historia Económica/ Journal of Iberian and Latin American Economic History, Research in Economic History, Financial History Review and Revista de Historia Industrial. He is also member of the editorial boards of European Review of Economic History and Revista de Historia Económica/ Journal of Iberian and Latin American Economic History. His current research interests comprises European Economic History (19th and 20th centuries), regional economics, long term economic growth and productivity, labour markets and factor markets efficiency.
