Sandra Cifuentes is a Chemical Engineer from the National University of Colombia, she is currently Assistant Professor at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Carlos III University of Madrid and researcher at the Group of Powder Technology. Doctor of Materials Science and Engineering by the UC3M, she did her doctoral thesis on the processing and characterization of polymer/metal composites for medical applications at the National Center for Metallurgical Research (CENIM-CSIC) and the Institute of Polymer Science and Technology (ICTP-CSIC). On 2014, she gain the recognition of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as one of the 10 brightest innovators in Spain. She forms part of the “MIT Technology Review Innovators under 35” global community. She has also studied and worked at the Friedrich Alexander Universität (Germany) and at the University of Wisconsin Madison (USA) during academic exchange programms.
