Curriculum Vitae

Ana Mª Díaz Martín got her honours degree and her PhD in Economic Sciences and Business Administration from the University of Oviedo, where she was a full profesor of Marketing and Market Research from June 1999 to July 2008.

Since the academic year 2008-2009, she holds the position of full professor of Marketing and Market Research in the Department of Finance and Market Research in the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid.

Teaching and research

Her research activity has been linked to the Group of Market Research and Design of Marketing Policies of the University of Oviedo, to which she belonged for over 10 years.

Ana María Díaz

The main research topic of this group has been the Services Marketing, mostly focused on the issue of Perceiving Quality, which is also the major topic of Ana María’s dissertation. Within this subject, her research has been embedded in two particular sectors: tourism and retail distribution.

Her works have been published in different Spanish and foreign journals, and have been discussed in diverse national and international congresses. As a researcher, she has also visited the University of Minnesota and the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid. As a result of her stay in the US, her work on Service Quality was strengthened, whilst her investigation in the UAM gave rise to her increasing interest in Marketing Distribution.

Ana María’s teaching, both in the first and second level of undergraduate studies, includes subjects of the area of Marketing and Market Research in three different institutions: the School of Economic Sciences and Business Administration of the University of Oviedo, and the School of Economic Sciences and Business Administration and the Law School of the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid.

With respect to the doctoral level, she has taken part, as a teacher, in the PhD program of Management of the University of Oviedo, and in the PhD program of Finance and Market Research (Research and Marketing Techniques) of the UAM.

In addition, she has collaborated in teaching summer courses, postdoc subjects, and non-regulated learning programs in different universities: Autónoma of Madrid, Cantabria, Jaume I of Castellón, University of La Rioja, León, Oviedo, País Vasco, Valencia and Vigo.

Academic contributions

For four academic years, Ana María Díaz was the Vice-dean of the School of Economic Sciences and Business Administration of the University of Oviedo. Currently, she is the Academic Coordinator of the MBA in Marketing of the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid.
