OBJECTIVES OF THE WORKSHOP

Within the framework of the Chair of Excellence of Prof. Tadao Nagatsuma at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, funded by Banco de Santander, we are pleased to announce a Spain-Japan Joint Workshop on Millimeter-wave and Terahertz technology.

The workshop will take place at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), Campus “Puerta de Toledo”, and will provide an opportunity for exchange of mutual interest and knowledge about recent advances and achievements in the field of millimeter-wave and terahertz technologies, particularly focused on enabling devices, techniques and their practical applications. The workshop is arranged in the form of invited talks by prominent researchers from both Spain and Japan.

Attendance to the workshop is open to all the researchers in the field.

Beside its outstanding technical interest mentioned above, the Workshop venue is at the heart of Madrid (also known as Madrid of the Austrians or the Habsburgs). This is the name used for the historic city center of Madrid, built during the reign of the Habsburg dynasty. Puerta de Toledo is also known for hosting “El Rastro de Madrid” which is the most popular flea market held every Sunday and public holiday. The area is trendy and festive with many small bars and restaurants where you can enjoy the Spanish “Tapa” while ordering your drinks and has managed to retain much of its village ambiance.
