Brief Bio

Juan Carmona obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering from the University Carlos III of Madrid. In parallel to develop different projects as Assistant Research, he was studying the Master's degree in Robotics and Automation from the same university.

Currently, he is developing his thesis. This is focused on analyzing and classifying driver behavior. The proposal attempts to be a contribution based on a low-cost hardware and advance software capabilities based on data fusion. It takes advantage of the information provided by the in-vehicle sensors using CANbus, an IMU(Inertial Unit Measurements) and a GPS-sensor. In addition, information obtained from computer vision is being added to the expert system. Images captured through the visible spectrum, and not visible spectrum (Infrared images). Performing a computer image data in both 2D and 3D.

After lecturing for a period in the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, as assistant lecturer teaching the subject Control Engineering II, his professional career was directed to the private sector. Specifically he works for Philips S.L., in the support and development related to image processing programs in healthcare field.
