I am David Santos Martín, born in Madrid (Spain) and currently I am an assistant lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University Carlos III of Madrid. Prior to this I worked as senior engineer with Iberdrola (Spanish utility) from 2001 to 2007 and with Ecotecnia-Alsthom (wind turbine manufacturer) from 2000-2001.
I am electrical and control engineer and I received the PhD degree at the University Carlos III of Madrid. I received the B.Sc. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from E.T.S. Industrial Engineering of Madrid (ETSII-UPM) in 1997 and the degree in control engineering from The École Supérieure d'Électricité (SUPÉLEC-Paris), also I have been working for the industry for 8 years.
My research interests are related with WECS and power electronics,
application of power electronics to power systems and advanced control techniques applied to renewable energy. I just finished my PhD. related to advanced control techniques applied to DFIG based WECS.
