The increasing complexity of current societies is questioning most of the traditional analysis. The understanding of globalisation, interrelation and governance, in a social, political, economic and environmental approach, need the development of new tools within a theoretical, methodological and technical context.
The Programme aims to fulfil the need for educating and training specialists, researchers and managers within an international relevance in the social sciences field. The main career opportunities are to be found in both an academic and private sector area.
The research areas of the department include both theoretical and applied research, oriented towards the study, analysis and evaluation of social and political arena and specialized in such areas as public policies, public management systems, political and administrative structures, sociology and sociological analysis in labour, industrial, organizational and family contexts.
