Pablo Martinelli is a visiting professor at the Social Sciences department at Carlos III University of Madrid. He holds a degree in Economics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and he obtained a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Economic History and Institutions (Interuniversity Programme Barcelona Autonomous University / University of Barcelona). He received his doctorate at the European University Institute (EUI) under the supervision of Giovanni Federico with a thesis entitled "Land Inequality and Agriculture in Interwar Italy". He has made several presentations in workshops and seminars (Autonomous University of Barcelona, Carlos III University of Madrid, European University Institute, Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna di Pisa and London School of Economics). He has presented his work at international conferences, such as the Agricliometrics Conference, la Economic History Society's Annual Congress y la European Historical Economics Society Conference. His research is about the role of inequality in the distribution of land in the development process, the determinants of agricultural growth and its role in the processes of divergence / regional convergence, with particular attention to the Italian economic history.
