Ana Justel is Associate Professor of Statistics at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She obtained B.Sc. in Mathematics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and PhD with Honors in Economics from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. She was a postdoctoral Visiting Scholar at the Université Catholique de Louvain. Currently, she is Director of the Office for University Facts at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She has published more than 40 papers and has participated in 30 research projects and contracts, five of them as principal researcher. Her current research interests are in new multivariate methods for functional data and the application to environmental problems. She has participated on five expeditions to Antarctica as part of the Spanish Antarctic Program.
