M. Concepción Ausín Olivera obtained her B.Sc. in Mathematics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (1997) and her PhD in Mathematical Engineering from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (2004). She was a postdoctoral Visiting Scholar at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. She also worked as a postdoctoral Researcher at the Universidade da Coruña and as Assistant Professor at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Now, she is Associate Professor in the Department of Statistics at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
Her main research interests are related with the development of Bayesian statistical methods using intensive computation for financial time series, insurance risk, environmental problems, microarray data and queueing models, among others. She has been recently awarded with one of the Young Researcher Excellence Awards 2015 of the Social Council of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
