Advanced Driver Behavior Analysis

The driver behavior is analyzed with great detail using a fusion based system, which uses the sensors information provided by the vehicle through CAN bus, as well as, an inertial measurement unit and GPS. The electronic devices easily are selected in special care to be integrated on board of the vehicle.

Create a light train vehicle, able to move over train tracks to perform automatic inspection, maintenance and surveillance tasks. The tasks that are performed in railway infrastructures, with intelligent behavior and positioning through advanced computers and sensors. In this project, the advanced knowledge and experience of LSI members in the field of intelligent transport systems are focused to provide state of the art railway technology.

This system works in interurban environments and it is based on the most advance techniques of sensors perception and V2V and V2I communications.

Create an integrated system for the detection of trains at long distances and rail tracks ruptures. The project has developed several systems for driver monitoring and measuring its attention degree. Different kind of approaches have been evaluated: visual monocular systems, stereo cameras and 3D, in order to obtain the driver gaze and decide if some warning has to be done because of drowsiness, distraction or fatigue state.

Cooperative Control of Vehicle Speed

The proposed system works as a common ACC but with the additional features of a common decision-making and the autonomous control of the vehicles. This way, when one vehicle detects other driving at a lower speed, a cooperation process is initiated between both vehicles exchanging the information related to speed, intentions, etc.

The driver assistant system watches the frontal and blind spot of the vehicle. Three different kinds of sensors are used: a visible spectrum stereo vision system, a far infrared stereo vision system and a scanner radar. The use of different sensors provides complementary information in order to detect obstacles.
