Robotics Laboratory

Robotics

In this laboratory, there are 3 industrial robots, which are used to familiarize the students with the technical characteristics of an industrial robots and how to program an industrial robot.

The industrial communication protocols are introduced to the student through flexible manufacturing cells in the lab. As a complementary for this knowledge, a simulator is provided to help student understand how to design manufacturing plants. This lab contains the following:

3 Industrial mainpulators (2 ABB IRB-1400 & 1 ABB IRB-2400).
1 Mechanized centre
1 Milling machine
2 PC's

Laboratorio de Automatización

1 Cell of flexible manufacture that includes processes of feeding, processing, manipulation, assembly and a warehouse 3D.

For its control control we have the following equipment: 8 PCs, 8 PLCs Siemens 300 S7 and the advisable software of control.

Also we have of 6 PLCs Siemens S6-95, 3 robots ABB IRb, 1 cartesian robot Bosch, 1 robot SCARA IBM, 1 CNC Lathe Fagor, 1 milling machine CNC Fagor and 1 Conveyer.

Pneumatics Laboratory

Pneumatics

12 PCs, 8 I/O profiBus Berghoff Equipment, 12 Vision Stands with Cameras and Digitizers, 8 Pnuematic Stands with various elements (Clylinders, valves, sensores, etc.).

Control Systems Laboratory

Control System Laboratory

This laboratory is used during the laboratory sessions of courses related to control, systems simulation and modelling.

The systems are analyzed using of local fabricated models, which can be used to control position, velocity, temperature, etc. Through these experiments, the students get familiarized with the basic characteristic of industrial process and how to control these processes.

There are 12 work stands. Each one has the following elements:

1 oscilloscope
11 PC with ms-dos y Lynx.
1 Signal Generator
1 Power Supply
1 Motor Control Model
11 Industrial PID
1 Tempartaure Control Model
1 Data Acquisition Card

PLCs Laboratory

PLCs Laboratory

In this laboratory, students learn how to use industrial programmable logic controllers.

This lab has 12 work stands. Each stand is equipped with the following elements:

1 PC.
1 Industrial PLC (Siemens o Telemechanique)
1 Model for Freight (Cargo) Wagons Transportation System.

Computer Vision Lab

Computer Vision Lab

In the computer vision lab for computer, students learn digital image processing and computer vision analysis. The laboratory session include introduction to grey scale manipulation, Binary images and object moments, the Fourier transform and edge detection and the Hough transform.
