José Alberto Hernández completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunication Engineering at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Madrid, Spain) in 2002, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at Loughborough University (Leics, United Kingdom) in 2005.
Since 2010, Dr. Hernández is a Senior Lecturer at Univ. Carlos III de Madrid where he combines teaching and research activities in the areas of computer networks and Big Data Analytics, with more than 80 articles published in high-impact Journals and Conference proceedings.
His research interests regarding Big Data Analytics are focused on the collection and analysis of massive social and economic data (LinkedIN, Google Play, Yelp, Yahoo Finance, etc), the design of security and privacy mechanisms for the Cloud, and the applications of modern scalable distributed computing frameworks like Spark for the fast analysis of massive sensored information from the Internet of Things.
