Service contracts – best regulated by judges and professors or by legislators?

Based on experience from comparative law we will discuss how the main legal problems in relation to services for work on property (construction) and intellectual services (advice) is best regulated. We focus mainly on B2B-transactions but also cover consumer law.

Christina Ramberg is professor of private law since 1998, presently at the Stockholm University (Sweden). For more than ten years she was active in the Study Group for a European Code. She has published extensively in Swedish and English in areas of general and special contract law as well as e-commerce. Ramberg has worked as a judge in the Appeal Court of West Sweden and in one of Sweden’s biggest law firms. She frequently acts as arbitrator in Swedish and international disputes. During 2015 she is on a sabbatical in Oxford and New York City to study the impact of precedents (case law) in civil law countries.
