Dr. Kazovsky has authored or co-authored two books, some 190 journal technical papers, and more than 400 papers and conference talks. He is a Fellow of IEEE and the Optical Society of America (OSA). He is also a member of the Stanford Electrical Engineering Graduate Admissions Committee and Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Communications and IEEE Photonics Technology Letters.

RESEARCH STAY AT UC3M: TELEMATIC ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

PROJECT: This project will investigate novel photonic technologies and network protocols that will reduce dramatically the energy consumption of future fiber broadband access networks and enable flexible allocation of network capacity according to traffic conditions. The proposed technologies can be employed to overcome the following limitations of current optical access networks whose improvement is our actual research targets in this project: a) inflexible power distribution, b) static wavelength reconfiguration, c) energy inefficient central offices, distribution network, home devices and access protocols, d) lack of resiliency.

Stay Period: FEB 13 - JUL 13
